The start of something big

Yesterday was G's first day of preschool.

I have been talking up preschool for weeks now and he really enjoyed his orientation last week, so I expected he would be okay with it.

What I didn't expect was for him to bound out of the car, run up to the teacher standing at the door, hug her and then dash down the hall to the classroom, sit with the other kids and watch the video they were showing as the children got settled.  He did all this, and I hadn't even unbuckled M from his carseat.

With M on one arm and G's bookbag on the other, I went to the classroom and asked G to take a "My First Day of Preschool" picture.  After that, I showed him where to hang his bag.

I had to nearly beg him for a kiss before I left.

Such a big, brave boy.

Awww, I'm so glad he's not the least bit apprehensive about this new experience! And I'm sure it made things easier on you (although I know you weren't exactly tearing up at the thought of having a 3-hour break from him a couple times a week).
